Littlestown’s football team was successful in their homecoming game, beating Hanover 14-0. Coach Bittle felt like the energy level was great. With a nice size crowd, the players love to see the fan support and thrive off that energy. “I liked our quiet readiness and focus. Players wanted to be the BIG DOG on the night of homecoming and all players wanted to have a role. We need a high level of energy from the sidelines and for the most part we got that,” said Coach Bittle.
Coach Bittle described the practice schedule before the homecoming game as tough because of the amount of rain they got. For the team, not being able to practice as much outside as they normally do, allowed them to prepare mentally. Coach Bittle has the same mindset for most games. “First, don’t beat ourselves by making mental mistakes. Physical mistakes will happen, so we have to control the things we can control before the ball is ever snapped,” said Coach Bittle.
As for the football team, the players had a similar energy that Coach Bittle described.
“The energy was amazing. Everyone was wired even at the start of the game. After the game, it just didn’t feel real because the game went so fast compared to others,” said junior Parker Dell.
“The Homecoming game started out rough… we were 0-0 at half time… We turned it on in the second half,” said senior Zander Spillan.
Shoutout to Nolan Chrismer, who had nine and a half tackles in Friday’s game.
According to Coach Bittle and the football team, the homecoming game was a success. With four games left in the regular season, this game could be the start of a winning streak.
